1. Open IDM in two ways. Via the icon to the right of the Windows taskbar or clicking the IDM shortcut on the desktop screen.
2. Hover over and click Help.
3. Select the check IDM for update option. It aims to check for the latest updates.
4. Wait for the information until there is the latest IDM update pop-up.
5. Click the update now button, to start updating.
6. After that a new window will appear as confirmation to install the update file. Click yes to start installing the latest version of IDM
7. Press finish when the process is complete.
8. Now your IDM has been updated.

How to Automatically Update Idm

Don't want the hassle of updating manually? You can try the steps on how to update the automatic IDM below.

1. Open IDM on your device.
2. Click on screen help.
3. Choose about IDM.
4. Then the IDM used notification will appear, then click check for updates.
5. Then a quick update notification will appear to update the latest version of IDM.
6. Click update now to update the software. Wait for the update to finish.

How to Update IDM via the Website

For those of you who are pirated IDM users, you can also update the latest version. But don't I am not responsible. If there is a virus or other problem.

1. Download the application on the link I provided above.
2. Extract the downloaded Winrar file.
3. Open the extracted folder.
4. Follow the instructions given.
5. Extract the patch file.
6. Run the file with the extension.

How to turn off IDM updates

Sometimes we often see annoying IDM update notifications. So that it doesn't bother you, you can actually turn off IDM update notifications. Here are the steps to turn it off:

1. Make sure you close the IDM application.
2. On the search bar, type regedit and hit enter.
3. After the registry list appears, select the Hkey_ Current_User folder. Then select Software -> DownloadManager.
4. Scroll and select the LstCheck value.
5. Change the year value to change the update notification. For example, if you want to enter 5050, just type 50 then okay.
6. Close the window from the registry editor then shut down your PC.

Quite easy is not the way to update the latest version of IDM. You can try it right now! But remember, I never suggested using pirated IDM!
