In the north Cadia Riverlands, there is a dense forest inside a canyon. The scenery around the place is very beautiful, even though the air is thick and dangerous. Countless waterfalls flowed like long silk that was white in color, water soaking all over the place as splashes started colliding in the air. Every now and then a strong wind blows, making the mist and cherry blossoms float in the air, revealing the ninja residence Scarlet Shadow is at.
Several years ago, the guard’s first disciple Cadia Riverlands which is known as Great Dragonarrive at Scarlet Shadow. He is a master ninja who has gone through intense training until he finally gains a strong resistance that is able to make him transcend the physical limitations of ordinary humans. Therefore, he produced a special skill that combines physical and spiritual energy – ninjutsu. Those who became his followers also ventured into gorges deep in the mountains, and they founded a village, calling themselves ninja.
After the ninja master passed away, the ninja in
Scarlet Shadow divided into 2 factions on the basis of different understanding of ninjutsu. The two factions are Scarlet Sect and
Shadow Sect. Scarlet Sect advocate the use of all kinds of ninja equipment, while Shadow Sect focuses on studying ninjutsu. Although the two factions have different understandings, so far they are still on good terms with each other. In fact, there are often student exchanges between the two factions to exchange knowledge about the ninja world.
Hayabusa is a ninja born in Shadow Sectthe second son of the leader Shadow Sect. He was sent to Scarlet Sect to become their disciple, on the agenda of the exchange of knowledge between the two clans. They planned for Hayabusa and Hanabi to grow up there, and the plan was for them to get married when they grew up. They both seemed destined to be a liaison, as well as hostages owned by each clan.
When Hayabusa was sent to Scarlet Sect, he did not know that his family had planned the future of his life. His father firmly said “From today on, you are a disciple raised by the clan
Scarlet and Shadow. You must be as great as your brother, and as my son, you must not be left behind from them!”
The greatest ninja leader is always known as ‘Akakage’ and Hayabusa’s older brother is famous as Akakage next thanks to his ability that is very prominent when compared to other ninja. For young Hayabusa, the shadow of his brother is very difficult for him to achieve. However, Hayabusa promised himself that he would follow in his brother’s footsteps, becoming the successor Akakage who is known as the greatest ninja.
To achieve that goal, Hayabusa began to train in earnest, and soon became the strongest student among the others. This situation also makes Hanabi receive high competitive pressure. From the first time Hayabusa defeated Hanabi in the trial competition, Hanabi became a rival that would endure throughout her childhood. Hanabi would usually greet Hayabusa with a gloomy look, and on every night of every full moon, Hanabi did everything possible to provoke a fight with him. Hayabusa began to be a little challenged, but his confidence recovered because he always won against Hanabi. Every challenge given by Hanabi, all ended in his own defeat.
Every day when recess came, Hayabusa always rushed home, and Hanabi looked at him with a cold gaze, as if there was a strong ambition in his eyes to beat Hayabusa. Whenever his father was away, Hayabusa would make a lot of noise to get his brother to take him to the mountains for hiking or fishing. Hayabusa’s brother was actually exhausted after returning from his mission, but because he had a good heart and always wanted to make his younger brother happy, Hayabusa’s brother finally always gathered his strength again to fulfill Hayabusa’s request by going to the mountain. They are often accompanied by Kagura, who always wants to come along and cause trouble for the two brothers.
Hayabusa is seen as a carefree child only when he is with his brother. Until one day, when they were on their way home, his brother told him that he would be away for a long time. Hayabusa understood that he was not questioning a ninja in the mission they were on. For the first time, Hayabusa finally just fell silent hearing his brother’s words, he only responded with a small nod without saying a word.
Months later, Hayabusa saw no sign of his brother’s return. He slowly got used to living in a house that now seemed deserted, growing accustomed to being the older brother taking care of Kagura. But deep down, he always longed for his brother’s return. One day, suddenly Hayabusa was called home. His father’s face looked languid as he said.
“Your brother’s mission is now your responsibility. Now, you are my only child.”
Hearing his father’s words, Hayabusa did not respond in the slightest, his mind was still shaken over what had happened to his brother. It turned out that, during his mission, Hayabusa’s brother was killed by Hanzo who was the incarnation of
Demon Pneuma. In history it is told that Demon Pneuma
is a secret move created by Akakage first, a move that is meant to act as an opponent to be used in practice. However, Demon Pneuma it grows alive, and devours
Akakage slowly from within.
All members Scarlet Shadow then relegated to deal with created monsters Akakage until it was finally sealed. Even so, it turns out that there is some awareness of Demon Pneuma
who managed to escape and now take control of Hanzo. From then on, Hanzo can transform into the demon form of his former self, stealing treasures
Scarlet Shadowslaughtered the entire guard, then fled without a trace.
This betrayal of Hanzo became a great disgrace to the clan Shadows. Countless elite ninja have been tasked with eliminating this dangerous target but have failed every time, and Hayabusa’s brother has fallen victim for the last time. Up until now, Hayabusa had grown into a teenager. On every full moon night that occurs every month, when the competition is held, he and Hanabi lie on a high roof and stare at the moon together. Sometimes Hanabi would glance at him saying “I’ll be the leader ScarletAnd Hayabusa replied “I will find Hanzo, kill him, and become Akakage next!”.
The day of the maturing ceremony happened to coincide with the night of the full moon. Hayabusa finds out that Hanzo has appeared outside
Cadia Riverlandsand knew that it was time for him to say goodbye to Scarlet Shadow and start the mission. Like other full moon nights, this is the night where Hayabusa and Hanabi will practice with each other in the bright moonlight. However, tonight to coincide with his maturing ceremony, will Hayabusa come? Remembering that Hanabi is his childhood friend, Hayabusa feels that he must say goodbye to her. After finishing packing his luggage, Hayabusa started to walk away, the rain immediately fell heavily, adding to the atmosphere of the night becoming increasingly gloomy.
Hayabusa’s journey is about to begin, but he hasn’t gone far, Kagura is seen blocking him in the middle of the road, hoping that he can join Hayabusa’s journey.
“Hayabusa, I want to go with you too!”
Hearing Kagura’s request, Hayabusa firmly replied “Listen! This isn’t a game we often play together, I’m not going to have fun!”
At the same time, there was a very bright flash of lightning, showing Hanabi who turned out to be observing Hayabusa from a distance. Seeing Hanabi’s gloomy gaze, Hayabusa quickly approached her, gave her an umbrella to Hanabi who was already drenched, then said goodbye that she would go far to complete her brother’s mission. There was nothing more Hanabi could say after she heard Hayabusa’s words, she couldn’t do anything but accept the goodbye.
“Goodbye, Hanabi. Goodbye, Scarlet Shadow. I’ll start my journey from here, forcing myself to undergo a very hard training, because I have to become stronger than Hanzo! I have to kill him with my own hands! And after that happens, then I will look for you again, Hanabi, I will find you and defeat you!”
