Xbox Game Pass subscriptions continue to grow rapidly, with December 2022 bringing a new wave of exciting titles free for subscribers to download and play. Yesterday during The Game Awards 2022,Xbox ‘s Phil Spencer announced the holiday season lineup for Winter of Arcade, the annual series of indie game releases. Some of those games were confirmed as Game Pass releases, a treasure in and of themselves, but today, Microsoft is revealing that there’s even more Game Pass left to show for December.
Six matches will be coming to Game Pass during December, as well as the other three that were announced yesterday as part of Winter of Arcade This release will start today, December 7th, and will run through December 20th. These are the newly announced releases coming to Game Pass:
Mortal Kombat X – December 7
Pro Evolution Soccer 19 – 13 December
Spintires: Mudrunner – December 13
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice – December 17
Ori and the Blind Forest – December 20
Shadow Warrior 2 – December 20
Then there’s the Winter of Arcade Game Pass game announced yesterday at The Game Awards:
Ashen – December 7
Kingdom of Two Crowns – December 11
Under – December 14
All three Winter of Arcade titles are new games and debuted as part of the Game Pass program as Phil Spencer promised. With regards to Ashen and Underneath, those promises came a few years ago. Although they are an older addition, Mortal Kombat X ( with a sequel just announced ), PES 19 , and Hellblade , might just prove to be more popular in the end.
Note that this new wave of Game Pass announcements doesn’t make up the entirety of Xbox’s Xbox Game Pass plans. Two games were added before today, with Mutant Year Zero launching on December 4 and Strange Brigade to be available on December 6. And according to the rate at which Microsoft is adding games to Game Pass, as well as a list of upcoming additions that arerevealed during X018 there’s bound to be more to come between December 20 and the end of the month.
The Game Pass line-up now has over 100 games total, with major Xbox exclusives including Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves leading the way. For Xbox One owners who haven’t tried the subscription service yet, Microsoft is offering a special introductory price of just $1 for the first month. Alternatively, current subscribers to Xbox Game Pass can add 6 months to their subscription for just $30.
