iPhone 11 Pro loses against iPhone XS in a speed test

IPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro boast a 20% faster on-paper processor, but how does that translate into real use? Not great, at least with iOS 13, compared to the iPhone XS. App launch speed tests are not the only analysis option, but offer a reasonable overview of the stress test, less concise than Geekbench scores.
In an EverythingApplePro video, the iPhone XS beat the iPhone 11 Pro by thirty seconds. The app launch speed test standard, which has become so popular on YouTube today, is to launch a series of apps in succession. Then, repeat for a second round by opening each app again.

The first round checks the raw power and the second shows how well the phones can keep the apps in memory alive. If a phone can keep all the apps in RAM at the same time, it accelerates during the second round. Otherwise, it must restart them again.
In this case, EverythingApplePro compared the iPhone 11 Pro next to the iPhone XS and the iPhone X. For the first test to launch the app, the X was surprisingly back but the iPhone 11 Pro only surpassed by a second the iPhone XS. At the end of the second round, the XS actually managed to keep more apps alive in RAM. This means that he has finished in 5 minutes and 21 seconds.
The new iPhone 11 Pro has finished in 5 minutes and 49 seconds. The X arrived in 7 minutes, 27 seconds. Remember that iPhone XS and the new one, Pro or not Pro, share the same amount of RAM: 4 GB. So why did XS manage to keep more apps in memory at a time? The answer is not clear but there are probably software bugs in iOS 13 that are affecting the performance of 11.
The EverythingApplePro test includes the opening of the Apple Camera app, which has been redesigned exclusively for the iPhone 11. It is possible that the Camera app uses much more memory than previous versions, causing additional memory pressure. With better optimization, the 11 should easily win a speed test fight with the XS because the underlying processor is about 20% faster.
We hope that Apple can improve iOS with upcoming software updates to make it at least able to compete with XS results for a year.
