Firefox has announced the new VPN, available only in the US. Currently in the beta phase it could be paid for everyone in the future.
Mozilla wants to offer more and more from the point of view of privacy for those who choose their browser. After releasing an update that blocks third-party trackers, it now launches the Firefox Private Network which offers "secure and encrypted access to the web".

Firefox Private Network can only be used in the browser and therefore modulates the traffic. Outside the browser it does not handle anything: the use of dedicated games or clients does not pass through the VPN. The use of the FPN is also recommended for those who use a public Wi-Fi network and want to surf in maximum security away from advertising trackers.
The extension can only be activated in the US and you must log in from Firefox desktop by entering the credentials of the Firefox account. To activate the extension it is necessary to go to this address.
Who has already tried it speaks of a decrease in the download speed, while as regards the speed of navigation it seems to remain unchanged. Now it is not possible to set your position from outside countries to the one we are in as we navigate, so for this type of use it is good to look at other solutions.
The VPN is now in beta and therefore free, but it won't be forever. In the USA it is usable only for a limited period of time. Mozilla has always been interested in innovations regarding the technological field: in June, in fact, the CEO of Mozilla had declared that it would offer premium features for a fee on Firefox, among these options there was also the VPN service.
Firefox Private Network can be defined as the first Test Pilot project: initially it offered users experimental features, now everything is focused on having the sole objective of improving user privacy and surely a VPN is the first essential step to move in this direction .
