Microsoft and 343 Industries made the decision to delay the launch of Halo Infinite until 2022. 343 Industries said the delay was related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Also, during this time of pandemic, many employees are focused on working from home and game development has become a bit distracted.
“We’ve made the tough decision to shift the release to 2022 to ensure the team has enough time to deliver the game experience that fulfills our vision, said Chris Lee, head of studio Halo Infinite.
However, Microsoft still pushed and demonstrated Halo Infinite during the Xbox Game Studios event a few weeks ago. At the time, Microsoft and 343 Industries were still publicly committed to launching Halo Infinite alongside the new Xbox Series X console, which will now launch in November 2022.
It’s unclear what changed over the past few weeks that forced Microsoft to postpone Halo Infinite until 2022. However, the response to the game was mixed, with some people criticizing the graphics and visuals in the game.
However, 343 Industries responded to the criticism, “we have work to do to address some of these areas and improven the level of loyalty and overall presentation for the last game.“
With no exact release date for Halo Infinite, except for a 2022 release, 343 Industries will now have plenty of time to perfect the Halo Infinite game.
