Intel Corporation on Thursday said it has pushed back the launch of standalone graphics chips for desktops in the second quarter, while for laptops they will be rolled out in the first quarter as originally planned. The announcement comes in the backdrop of ongoing chip shortages and problems in the global supply chain, with chipmakers struggling to sustain unprecedented demand.
The company's arc graphics chip, which helps video games and other content look more realistic, will compete with rivals Nvidia Corporation and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Intel said in August last year that graphics chips for PCs will come in the first quarter of 2022.
