The guys from Jide, a developer company focused on porting Android to PC architecture, have released Nougat emulator RemixOS Player, an Android 7.0 Nougat emulator for Windows.
Emulating Android on Windows can be used for several things, running mobile applications on the computer (Instagram, Snapchat) as well as the classic mobile video games (Game of War, Clash of Clans). That is why here at Tekcrispy we have previously recommended NOX App Player for its versatility, ease of use, and speed compared to other emulators such as well-positioned and solid BlueStacks. However, NOX has become outdated, based on Android version 4.4.2, although it is still the fastest. RemixOS Player, on the other hand, is based on Android 7.0 Nougat but goes a bit further.
The environment is adapted to offer us the same RemixOS interface but from a virtualized window. It does not require VMware or VirtualBox, since its installation includes the necessary packages to virtualize the system. In general, it is like using Android Nougat from a window, which we can maximize and forget that we are running Windows.
RemixOS Player includes a practical multitasking system, as it allows us to run various applications and stack them in windows that can be minimized.
To install RemixOS Player, it is necessary to meet these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 7 (64-bit) or higher.
- Processor: Intel Core i3 (or higher).
- RAM memory: 4GB
- Disk space: 8GB
- Verify that we have the virtualization function activated in our processor (Intel VT-x or AMD SVM). Here are the steps to activate it.
- In the case of Intel, Intel HAXM technology is also required .
Meeting the requirements. We proceed to download RemixOS Player from the official page (direct download or torrents). Once the file is downloaded, I recommend placing it in a separate folder; When executing it, it will ask us to decompress its content to which we must accept. At the end, we can see a folder that has been created with the name RemixOSPlayer. We can move this folder where we want to have the installation. When entering inside it we must locate a file of the same name and execute it.
When starting for the first time, it asks us to adjust some settings, I recommend leaving the settings as they are. By continuing, it asks us to accept the use agreements and after a few minutes of waiting, we can use RemixOS. Within the system, we can find a large repertoire of applications already installed that facilitate the experience. But we also find the Play Store to download the application we want.
