Xiaomi MIUI 12 official: release date, news and compatible smartphones
As promised, Xiaomi introduced the international version of the custom ROM, MIUI. # 12, based on Android 10 and improves many aspects of the user interface, whether it is Dark Mode, New Energy Saver Mode or New Permissions. The interface now includes new transitions between screens and applications, with 3D animation managed by two display engines called "MI MI Engine" and "Mi Render Engine". New economic mode, dark mode, application drawer
MIUI 12 is based on Android 10, including the new delegation system that allows you to grant them only when the target app is in use. This new system relates to camera, selfie sensor, storage, microphone and some personal data. MIUI 12 also provides sharing options while removing specific information from metadata.
MIUI 12 is also enriched with a new multitasking mode to display multiple applications simultaneously with floating windows. The new power saving mode is integrated. It is called "Ultra Battery Saver". The app drawer, extracted from the Poco Launcher (the Pocophone interface), appears in MIUI 12. Thus, Xiaomi is compatible with its main Chinese competitors (Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Huawei, Honor) which already offer this display option. Finally, the dark mode reaches the level of the entire interface. Dark mode wants less power and the light intensity can be adjusted.
The first update is in June 2020
MIUI 12 will be gradually released on Xiaomi installed base. About fifty models will benefit from the update of this version, distributed in the Mi, Redmi and Poco bands. The first models concerned will be the Mi 9, Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro, as well as its international releases (Redmi K20 and K20 Pro). They will be deported from June to MIUI 12.
