Starting with 2.5.8 you can find the hash value of the exe file on the Releases page. You can use the tools such as fciv to verify the Shadowsocks.exe file. For example, fciv.exe -both -add Shadowsocks.exe
Basic use Shadowsocks Windows
- Find the Shadowsocks icon in the taskbar
- Add multiple servers to the server menu
- Select Enable System Agent to enable the system agent. Please disable proxy plugins in your browser or set them to use system proxy.
- In addition to being a system proxy, you can also configure your browser proxy directly. Set the proxy to SOCKS5 or HTTP 127.0.0.1:1080 in SwitchyOmega. This 1080 port can be set in the server settings.
PAC File shadowsocks windows
- You can edit the PAC file to modify the PAC settings. Shadowsocks will listen for file changes and will automatically take effect after modification.
- You can also update the PAC file from GFWList (maintened by a third party).
- You can also use the online PAC URL.
- For the Windows 10 Store and its related applications, execute the following command with administrator privileges:

Server automatic switching shadowsocks windows
Load balancing: randomly select the server
High availability: Automatically select servers based on latency and packet loss rate
Accumulated packet loss rate: Speed and selection by timing ping. If you want to use this feature, open the statistics availability in the menu.

UDP shadowsocks windows
For UDP, use SocksCap or ProxyCap to force the program you want to use to go to the proxy.
Multiple instances
If you want to manage multiple servers with other tools like SwitchyOmega, you can launch multiple Shadowsocks. To avoid configuration conflicts, copy Shadowsocks to a new directory and set a new local port for it.
Plugin shadowsocks windows
If you want to connect to the server through the plugin, please fill in the plugin program (relative path or absolute path) to the editing server interface.
Note: The forward proxy is disabled when the plugin is enabled.
Global shortcut shadowsocks windows
You can set Shadowsocks to automatically register hotkeys at startup. If you open Shadowsocks, you will need to set different shortcuts for later instances.
How to type a shortcut shadowsocks windows
Click the shortcut text box you want to set.
Press the key combination you want to set.
Release all buttons when the requirements are met.
The shortcut key characters you enter will appear in the text box.
How to modify the shortcut keys?
Click the shortcut text box you want to set.
Press BackSpace to clear the contents of the text box.
Retype the new key combination.
How to deactivate?
Clear the text box content you want to deactivate the shortcuts. If you want to cancel all, clear the contents of all text boxes.

Label background color meaning
Green: This key combination is not occupied by other programs and is successfully registered to the system.
Yellow: This key combination is already occupied by other programs, you need to change other combinations.
